Eyelash Extensions is a popular new service that lengthens and thickens your natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for special occasions or for everyday wear.
Eyelash extensions are most commonly made from authentic mink hair, nylon or polyester. Synthetic Mink & Silk lashes are made from PolyButylene Terephthalate (PBT). They are precision made, distinctively lighter, softer, more durable and more flexible than conventional synthetic lashes. In contrast, polyester lashes are heavy and inflexible. They are cheaply made, can be irregular and tend to look heavy and artificial on the eye. For that reason, The Lux Lounge only uses synthetic mink lashes. In the world of eyelash extension products, you get what you pay for.
With proper application, meaning one synthetic eyelash applied to one natural lash the look and feel is completely natural looking and real. No one will know you have extensions. They will just think you were born with beautiful, long lashes!
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of your eyelashes natural growth cycle. Everyone's experience will differ based on day to day activities but overall fills should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks.
Your natural eyelashes fall off every 60 - 120 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as exposure to steam or touching your eyes may cause the extensions to fall sooner. A fill is needed to replace any lashes that have fallen out and to fill in on the new growth. Fills will vary from individual to individual and depend on your natural eyelash cycle as well as how you take care of your extended lashes. Most fills are between 2 - 3 weeks. When you come in for regular fills, you should normally have at least 50% of your lash extensions still attached. If you wait too long many of your extensions may fall off and you will need to have the full set re-applied. Fills usually last 40 to 60 minutes.
No it is not required since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara, doing so can shorten the life of your extensions and long term use can cause product build up along the lashes which may result in an eye infection. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall off sooner.
This is where you can answer the above question in detail. Remember an FAQ is a question that most of your customers might have. Therefore, it is best to answer them in detail in order to show them that you have a solution for their queries.
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. Special care is required for those who participate in strenuous sweating activities like hot yoga, but overall maintenance is fairly low. However, do not wash your eye area for the first 24 hours after each application.
We do not recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly break your own natural lashes. The lash extensions are pre curled and will hold the curl.
• Do not get lashes wet for the first 24 hours
• Avoid hot steam or sauna for 48 hours
• Do not rub your eyes
• No use of mascara on upper lashes, lower lashes is ok
• Use only a water based eye makeup remover nothing with oil in
• Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler
• Do not pull on your lashes this will cause your natural lashes to come out
Currently the FDA is not regulating eyelash extensions since the eyelash extensions are applied to the natural eyelashes and do not touch the skin. However, improper application by an unqualified or unlicensed eyelash technician can cause damage to your natural lashes. In California State the only requirement to do lashes is to be a licensed Cosmetologist or Esthetician. Make sure you are seeing a certified eyelash extension specialist that has lot of experience in lashing before you trust your eyes to just anyone.
The application process for lash extensions normally takes anywhere from 1.5 hours to 2 hours. You will lay comfortably on a facial table with your eyes closed. The Eyelash professional will then apply an under eye gel pad to cover your lower lashes from getting stuck together with your upper lashes. Then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash on a lash by lash basis. The application process is pain-free and relaxing and most clients fall asleep during the procedure.
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thickness. We normally consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in. We also determine what your lashes can hold in regards to size. Each person's lashes will vary in strength and length and also depends on eye shape. We take this into consideration when creating a look for you. The overall look of the lashes is very natural but can be made to look more dramatic if wanted.
